   How do you fight writers block?
   
   I have ideas, but to get there- its so hard! Suggestsions??

   the way that i fight writer's block is to just look at a random thing in my room and imagine it was a super hero.
   
   Then i can't stop writing.

   I get away from my computer when I find my mind wandering.  I go to the store, take a walk or go for a drive.  Even visiting friends can help, just talk about nonsense things.  Try to get your mind off of writing for a while. 
   
   Scrubbing the tub or shower seems to help get out some aggressions, even baking bread.  I find that if I do something with my hands, my mind is free to wander and then the ideas come.  If you are working on a particular piece and find yourself stumped, go to another.  Just save your work until you can come back to it.

   I have a treadmill right next to my computer, and when I just can't seem to put words together I'll "go for a walk" and listen to music or read while I'm walking...it gets the blood flowing, takes my mind completely off work, and then I can sit down ready to tackle it all over again. And if I find that I'm not ready to tackle it again, I bake...and, surprisingly, while I'm waiting for cooking time, I can generally rap out an article or two...some reason having any kind of time pressure really helps.

   Writer's block isn't something I struggle with, ever.  A regular writing routine will help you avoid this issue.

   I just go away from it. If ideas aren't coming for me they just aren't coming, but then some days it is so easy. I just never know.

   I find that writer's block can come for several reasons. Sometimes I am overtired and simply can't process anything anymore--a short nap (or long) can help a lot. Other times it is fresh air I need and a walk can help to relax the mind so thoughts can flow again. Then there are times when talking it out with someone else or talking about something completely different can shake that frozen thought free. Some ideas have to just be allowed to leave for a while to work on something else (I wrote a poem about this.) When the time is right it will surface in a moment of inspiration!

   Sometimes I don't.  I just let it run its course.  Other times I get up and go for a walk.  Just the rhythm of the pace will entrain the brain and engage thoughts and when the thoughts come out, they come out into the form of words.
