I have been writing online for HP and for Demand Studios. That way I can write when I want, like when the kids are at school or after they've gone to bed. I am new to HP so I haven't made any $ yet. But Demand Studios pays per article. It's not too much $, but the articles are short so you can do a bunch of them and the $ adds up. They pay you straight into your paypal account. It is definitely secondary income for us, though. If you want more info I have just written a hub about it at

You can tell I'm new because I don't know how to make a hyperlink. sad

I suspect that you have this well handled and can offer most of us a bit of advice on the topic.   That being said, I am a grandpa so I have no personal experience, however, it would help to be rich and then you can have other people write your articles or take care of your kids.

Ha!  Frogdropping, I'm looking forward to reading the answers to this question - it's something I've been trying to do for 8 years now!  The only time I succeeded was when I was completing my masters-  because I had assignments and deadlines my family understood I needed time to work.  Now though, even with the kids at school I struggle to shut out all the other things to be able to sit down and really concentrate on it.  It's like sitting down to write now has become a self-indulgent luxury.  I hope you get some good answers!
