Not sure if it's the same thing but what I find useful if I get writer's block or just find myself floundering I simply walk away from it for a while.
Struggling on only leads to frustration. I have one or two favourite quiet places to walk and think and if that doesn't work I will re read up to the sticking point just before I go to bed.
Is that meditation ? I don't know but it is amazing how there are times I awke with a jolt and be wide awake at 4 5 in the morning with a rush of new thoughts and ideas.
