cold play
Category: Writing and Poetry

before a field
stands a noble maple,

a chilled wind
fondles its leaves,

it shutters and blushes
and looses grip,

emblazened and many hued,

its harvest dress
falls to the earth
in a passioned heap
of undenied abandon,

stripped to the bare
ready,,

for the uncompareable
kiss of winter
