Cowboys and Cowgirls still exist.

Dreams of being a Cowgirl

Dreams of being a Cowgirl

Oh, l sometimes wish l could have been a cowgirl...

Hair tied back, Stetson hat whoopeee. l´m a cowgirl

Trouble is, when childhood games were my only care

l had brothers --  even cousins, all were boys,

So guess who didn´t get a gun with those tiny little ´caps´that ´BANG´´?

l always had to be the squaw, tied me to a tree, running rings around me,

Yelling, shooting, with smoke from caps were smelling

of a burning little squaw, that was ME!.

l should have been more bossy, put my point of view,

l didn´t have to be the squaw.!What´s wrong with an Indian Brave?

Tie my brother to the tree, then a cowgirl l could be

Oh, why back then was l just´silly me?´.

Couldn´t play that game today, ¨¨Health and safety´d have their say¨

Nanny State would surely interfere........

But l can dream and still pretend ....The Rodeo!!!  With my cowboy friend

Yep, my cowboy friend and l would go, really would enjoy the show.

Cowboys all around in tight blue jeans and spurs and chaps...

Ho Ho, o boy, would l love that!!!

Oh l wish l could have been a cowgirl.

Slight drawback of course, l´ve never ridden on a horse,

But my cowboy would so helpful be. He´d teach me how to ride,

Not tie me to a tree.  He´d  fall in love with me.

Once he´d taught me how to ride we´d go trotting side by side,

Ride the old wild west or in that style..

OH l sometimes wish l could have been a cowgirl.!

Dreams come true, don´t you know.?

It´s not too late to ´have a go´.

In your dreams, dear old girl.

don´t think you´ll really make the show.

Go to bed, and dream of how you wish you were a cowgirl....

Excellent.

Dreams DO come true, too. My ex-wife (still dearly beloved) was a California girl in her forties when we met. A few years later, we moved back to my home state of Montana (I'm a bona fide cowboy myself, grew up on a Montana ranch and hit the rodeo circuit for a few years.), and bought a small place in the hills.

Last time I saw her, she still had that place, complete with horse!

Voted up and everything.

......yes and so very very nice to see you back at the Hub again and making my night by popping over to see me.

Hope all is well with you and your family and your heath.

Please remain happy and keep thinking good thoughts!

And oh boy I really loved this one - it's unlike anything that I've ever read at the Hub - and that is quite a compliment because the epi-man always looks for something different, off beat and original - and you have certainly conquered all three categories here with this wonderful hubawesome piece of writing!!

I, as you, dealt with my older brother and childhood woes. Being unable to do the really "fun" stuff because I was "just a girl". I could never count the times I was told "no" because "girls don't do that"!

Yes we had our place and were kept firmly in it! I wasn't even allowed to take drivers' education in high school because I was the only girl who had signed up for the class!

But times are changed!

So when that beautiful grandson is a bit bigger, put on your cowgirl hat and whoop it up with him! You can be Annie Oakely or Calamity Jane to his Wild Bill Cody and have all the fun you missed when you were "just a girl"

Loved this!!!!!!!
