Out by the bay, a beacon of light,
shines deep into my soul. In the thought I might
see the warning given from a distance,
to keep away. Yet I am attracted.

No keeper there now. A lone star, whose long
vivid stare beckons me closer, like a sirens song,
a fatal history of doom. Yet for all
    the omens, I am attracted.

My arms outstretched, her calling of lust
cuts me deep as I flounder, on the dust
of a desert, no bigger than my heart.
Yet despite it all, I am attracted.

It reminds me of one I wrote a few months back. I've been afraid to publish it.  I am not knowledgeable about poetry in general. Thanks for having the courage to publish yours. I am learning quite a bit  from each person I read. I don't know much, but I know I liked this!

    I am attracted because
    alone too long
any diva could steal me for a song
    and I am still attracted

A glass of wine and loaf of bread
the table set to tend our romance
she tosses her head and tips her glass
yes, yes, I am so attracted

    forgive me, forgive me
    couldn't help myself
