I just asked for a re-assignment on my only writing project this week. I stand to earn almost $200 from that but I seem to be feeling down lately and I haven't really made any progress on writing the report. Rather than forcing myself (and producing a low-quality report), I had it re-assigned.
Sometimes we all need a break. I don't know if this is how it is for you, but as a freelancer I spend just about as much time LOOKING for work as I do doing it. That on top of earning a Master's degree and some days I really have to say "No" when a client sends a proposal...even if I would really like the money.
It sounds like you need some rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Try to take a day planned all around relaxing things that you like, but don't normally get to do. You deserve it, and probably you need it.
i have never had anything reassigned, as there isnt anyone to reassign TOO. But i would if i could. sometimes stuff just doesnt get done. i hope you feel better soon. dont be hard on yourself, everyone needs a break somtimes.
Thanks theirishobserver. Actually, the re-assignment has been done already. I had it the project for 4 days and I haven't done anything concrete. Usually, when this happens, I know I'm not meant to do the project so I usually unload it to somebody who can.
I'm in the same position as you are in. I haven't had it re-assigned, but I'm motivating myself by reading a few light articles, taking some time to enjoy the day and getting plenty of sleep. I feel better today, and can actually think about the writing. Sometimes, we just need to let the brain rest, let the body enjoy some restful time and sleep always helps. It's taken me two weeks to reach this point... I understand that yours is due this week, so you've a more tight time constraint. Don't worry, just your body telling you to take some time for yourself.
Writer's block...! How many of us suffer from it sometimes....esp. when it's for a 'job' rather than pure enjoyment. I think it's more like the 'pressure' of getting the assignment done that's probably getting to you.....? Well, just focus on other things for a while, and then one morning brace yourself for it and just get it done with! meanwhile, here's a hug!
But i have to show that I am all fine and happy in front of my son and hubby. Its frustrating. Have you ever felt like this and then what one needs to do? It is hard to smile when actually i don even feel like reacting.
