As an Author I have seen fiction books as well as Non Fiction books take off like wild fire in popularity and sales. I have also seen some books that are a collection of short stories take off as a successful book.
In your writing and reading career out of the three selections listed above which one do you think is the most successful in sales and popularity to the buyer
Isn't that very tough to determine? I mean there are so many people who love fiction as well as non fiction and short stories as well. To say which of these books is liked more is next to impossible. Its like asking a child that do you like christmas more or santa claus.
Also if the goal is to make the most money, non-fiction generally pay more to the author per sale... while fiction writers might be paid a great advance even if sales tank.
The issue isn't as cut and dried as the title of this thread implies. Look up some past and present best-sellers lists, and this will be demonstrated.
