"The SHACK" by William Paul Young: Good Read? GOD Read? Don't Read?

    Did you Read the |T- H- E |neutral S- H- A - C - K|" by William Paul Young? Mildly Religious but very thought provoking! (I started an ONLINE BOOK CLUB and this is was my suggestion for the FIRST Entry - BUT, I was Just wonder what your opinion is, an merit to this book?

      Haven't read it, but from Christian friends of mine who've read it, I hear it's either total nonsense or bordering on blasphemy.

        Not blasphemous IMO, but not very good writing either.  I read it after my Mom suggested it - up to the point where God appears as a character who is eerily similar to Aunt Jemimah.

        I tossed the book and whipped up some pancakes.

    For anyone who likes the kind of religious type fantasy that The Shack tries to employ but fails,  they might try The Stand by Stephen King.  I honestly dunno if it's a book; I just know the movie by that name was pretty good.  It doesn't try to re-play the actual Gospel in a twisted manner;  it's just a story whose intent is to show how to stay strong in the "end times"....

      Pancakes sound GREAT!  With REAL butter and maple syrup and oh Blueberry pancakes...

        A local restaurant here in Flagstaff makes blue corn pancakes.

        They're great with agave nectar.
