Game of Thrones Kindle Download

If you are looking of a Kindle edition of the book, A Game of Thrones, you are in luck. There is a Game of Thrones Kindle download available, but that's not the only book in the series by George R R Martin that you can read on your Kindle reader. The three other published novels in his popular fantasy books series, A Song of Ice and Stone, are also available.

HBO is going to premiere Game of Thrones on April 17th, 2011 and my understanding is that they plan on following up with adaptions of the additional books in the series each year following (assuming the first series does well in the ratings, of course!)

So whether you want to reread A Game of Thrones before the HBO series debuts, or you are just hearing about the book for the first time and would like to read it before watching the TV show, now is the time to get it - especially since at the moment, the Kindle edition is cheaper than the paperback. Amazon is currently selling the Kindle version for $5.00. The paperback costs just under $10.

A Song of Ice and Fire

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1)
A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1)

A Game of Thrones is Book 1 in the series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Until the end of January, it is on sale (for the Kindle only) for $5.00

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 2)
A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 2)

A Clash of Kings is the second book in the series and the Kindle version is also currently on sale. So be sure to pick up both titles. Trust me, you will want to jump right into the next book as soon as you are done with Game of Thrones.

A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 3)
A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 3)

A Storm of Swords is book three in the series.

A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 4)
A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 4)

This is the fourth book in the series, and the most recently published. Unfortunately, Martin has not published the next installment yet, but hopefully HBO will stick a fire under his butt so he'll get moving on that.

Game of Thrones HBO

The series of books is one I've known about for a long time. I read a lot of SF/F, but somehow I never got around to reading any of Martin's books. Once I saw the first preview on HBO though, and once Amazon decided to over the first two titles for $5 each, I decided it was time to rectify this oversight.

So far, I'm about halfway into A Clash of Swords and the series has been great so far. My favorite character is Tyrion, who will be played by Peter Dinklage in the upcoming movie. This works out perfectly as that is who I was picturing playing him while reading the books :)

Another favorite of mine is Nicolaj Coster-Waldau who will be playing Jamie Lannister. So far, Jamie is really only a side character in the books, but i expect that to change in either the next book or the one after --- I know he's a very popular character.

So far, I can highly recommend the first two books. They are long, but you will be so consumed by the world within that it really won't take you too long to read them.

The Game of Thrones Air date for the pilot is April 17th, 2011. Can't wait!
