Her heart strings

I will be right here waiting for you - Richard Marx

Somewhat in doubt

Somewhat in doubt her day of decision did come

The toil long, the burden she bore

Her spirit was eager, this soulful child

The wind chilled her body but the thought of his kiss

Her heart was warmed She yearned for love, passion and him

The other HIM, HIS will, her concern

Yet the touch, the kiss, and the spirit they shared

Her heart strings pulled by thoughts of the past

This sojourner’s journey begins

Eyes heavy, the body aches, her soul seeks

Ever closer she dreams the dream

She doubts the doubts, she loves the love

Their love, strange it seems

Insecure yet the most secure

This sojourn of love, her need of him so real, so genuine

Her night of destiny, he arrives, at first she doesn’t see

His love of HIM, Her love of HIM, their love

Her heart strings pull

Yet her soul seeks truth from HIM about the other him

The moment of indecision, the moment of decision

Her spirit knows

Her heart strings pull

Honor, loyalty, commitment a must

Her spirit knows his love she can trust

For her, he can have no other, she wants only him

He only her

For him, he has no other, for her the other him

They yearn with passion and desire for each other and for HIM

A love so unique, so good, beyond the bounds of human understanding

Yet, the other him, her heart burdened with emotion

Sad but secure, provision but distrust, expectation but disappointment

Her heart strings pull

Their love is sure, their spirits united, the decision is here, and her indecision remains

Her heart strings pull

But in a moment, a caressing special moment the indecisiveness is reckoned

They embrace, they kiss, and they touch with the light of youth re-kindled

Only now, HE is in control, His love, His passion, His spirit

By Him they are renewed, they are restrained

They loved each other in a way neither had loved before.

Their bodies, their hearts and their souls were filled.

The future she seeks, the future, HIS will he knows

Yet,

Her heart strings pull

Thank you much Ghaelach. I appreciate your time in reading and your comment. It might be 30 years but still, when you tread into uncertain waters like poetry, it does have a tendency to make one feel a bit uneasy. Thank you for your encouragement and have a wonderful, Merry Christmas.

Morning Drtruthman.

It seems that a man of over thirty years experience in writing has no problems taking a new branch in his writing career.

I'm know expert but your venture in poetry and romance is remarkable.

UP/A/B.

Take care.

Thank you ericaslee, I appreciate the read and the comment. The writing of poetry is new to me although I have been a writer/reporter and author for over 30 years, so your comment makes this old guy feel pretty good. This one was my first attempt at romance. Thanks so much.
