Poems That Tickle My Feet V- Hairy Uncle Larry

Hairy Uncle Larry - By Pat Gillem

Uncle Larry, he's all hairy, not a bald spot on his head,
if you see him please don't tease him, because his face will turn all red.
Then one day he went a hunting, just to see what he could see,
an old sow bear came a running, chase poor Larry up a tree.
Now that old bear forgot her glasses, without them she was blind as a bat,
she squinted and sniffed, trying to find out where he could be at.
When she finally saw him, sitting on that limb, with all that hair,
'' I'll be darned,'' she thought, '' instead of a man, I was chasing another bear.''
Quietly Uncle Larry sat, not saying even a silent word,
perched upon that tree limb, like a huge hairy bird .
Then along the trail , came the old girls mate,
Ole Uncle Larry was getting worried, about his own fate.
''Ma you forgot your glasses,'' and he handed her the pair,
that's when Uncle Larry jumped straight into the air.
Both his short legs were a pumpin', as he hit the ground,
both those bears sat watching, as he ran straight for town.
''What the heck was that?'' Said pa to ma,
''That was the funniest looking bear, I have ever saw!''
