Things were said, but I’m ambitious,
The book you left, so nutritious.
Read my lips, that was sarcastic,
Anything else’d be fantastic.
I picked it up, a bit annoyed,
Morals and ethics sure were toyed.
I then read, reluctantly,
For a new point of view I’d see.
Cover to cover, front to back,
Why, why won’t you cut me some slack?
I won’t believe in this drivel,
Slap my face, I fall and swivel
On my hands and knees, till they burn,
You notice me, a look so stern.
I’ve had enough and up I stand,
You step back and I raise my hand.
Your fork tongue’s dried from bein’ errant,
The smell of urine runs apparent.
Your acrid stare is now a laugh,
I feel taller than a giraffe.
I’ve ne’er raised my fists in a rage,
Ba-Dum, Ba-Dum, the beating sage...
Tune you out, silence overcomes,
I listen to my peaceful drums.
Placed my friendship on the table,
Composure back; fully able,
Extend myself, in hopes of peace,
Your drying tears covered your fleece.
Our hands missed and you gripped my throat,
My consciousness begins to float.
Vision leaves me in a hurry,
Thoughts of happiness, they scurry.
I wander back to my true love,
I won her heart – all I think of.
Your fingers sweat, but still so tight,
A smile is my only fight.
For a lifetime of gloom I see,
But mine was filled with harmony.
A peaceful life I’ll maybe miss,
But you’re the one to live with this.
I move my mouth, cheeks turn blue,
Then I gasp, “hey, I forgive you.”
