Love, Life and Laughter
Jumping in The Puddles of Life
By Loretta Livingstone
Welcome to my third book. I published my first, "Fire and Ice" in October 2011. Since then I have taken on the enormous challenge of writing an Olympic Games, and Winter Sports themed book, "Hopes, Dreams and Medals" which, to my delight, has attracted the attention of sporting professionals. Jumping in the Puddles of Life is my third book. It combines fabulous photographs with poetry which really does have something for everyone. Spiritual themes, romance, humour, animals, even chocolate! Do enjoy reading the poems I print here, and then maybe treat yourself to the book itself, which retails from just US $4.08 for the iBook (also available from Apple iBookstore) and comes in softback, hardback, and a budget softback version, which has no photographs, for just US $8.49. I am not great at uploading perfectly framed photographs here, so please bear with me. The photographs in the book itself are of much higher quality.
Whilst I hope you enjoy reading my poetry, please bear in mind that all my work is protected by copyright. This includes all the photographic content, as well as the actual poems.
As those of you with older computers or smaller screens may have difficulty reading the words on the photographs, I've added the words next to the photographs.

Sisters
Sisterhood is a very special relationship. We may squabble and disagree, but when the chips are down we will ALWAYS be there for each other.
Sisters!
We're sisters! It's true
that sometimes we fight
for she thinks that she is,
but I know that I'm right!
We both like to win,
we like to compete
and we'll never admit
if we're facing defeat!
But she knows that I love her,
I know she loves me.
She'll always be there
if I need her, you see.
And all through our lives
on this truth we agree
You mess with my sister,
You're messing with me!

Books To Inspire You And Make You Laugh - And one that might make you cry.
Jumping in the Puddles of Life and Rhythms of life are both poetry books, Where Angels Tread is a much more intense little story about a teenage runaway. Will she survive on the streets? Does anybody care?
The House Where I was Born
The House Where I Was Born remembers a childhood filled with happiness. We didn't have much in material wealth, but we were rich in all the things that mattered.

Losing Things
Losing Things
I am very good
at losing things.
It is a particular talent
of mine.
No matter how large,
or unwieldy,
I can lose it.
If I had an elephant
and kept it secure
in my house,
I could still lose it.
The only thing
I have not lost
is my faith in God,
and that is because
He will never
lose me.

What Ollie Loves
Ollie is "my" cat. You can read more about him on my "Cats" lens. It would be far more true to say that I am his person. And these are some of the things Ollie likes.
What Ollie Loves
Ollie loves
Finding bowls of soup
That I have left
Inadvertently
Within his reach
Creeping noiselessly across the floor
Until I am alerted
By his muffled lapping
And the crash of dishes!
Ollie loves
Sitting on my lap
When I am trying to work
On the computer
Stretching out
A nonchalant paw
And lazily deleting
My work.
Ollie loves
Hiding behind the curtains
Hearing us search frantically
For "that cat"
Hiding in inaccessible places
Until we give up the search
And go to bed.

Still There
"Still There
He IS still there, you know,
even when your head
is stuffed so full of other things
that you just can't feel His presence.
When your heart
is so full of pain
that you feel trapped
and far away.
He is there
even when you are full of doubt.
When you don't know
which way to turn,
He is still there.
He hasn't left you,
He never will.
He is still there,
your strong tower,
your Jesus"

The Ballad of the Creme Egg
One last humorous one to finish with. If you would like to see more, please follow my links
"The Ballad of the Creme Egg!
I strode up to the checkout
Cool, serene and calm
A basket full of healthy food
Was dangling from my arm
But as I passed the counter
A diet tragedy!
A creme and chocolate Cadbury's Egg
Hurled itself at me
It hid amidst the fruit and veg
All lonely and forlorn
I paid the price, I took it home
And now it's nice and warm!"
