keep hanging on

I know sometimes It is hard to keep going.

Living day to day and still nothing showing.

Lay down your head.

Rest a while.

When nothing else is left to be said.

You think its all over.

The moment has come.

Just hang on.

Time to show the world how strong you are.

Stand up and face all the things you blamed on yourself.

Let go of the shame you have carried.

Today is the day!

Stand up and scream with me.

I know you saved all of your anger.

You tried to pray, but the pain never faded.

This ends today.

So take a hold of my hand.

I promise to show you the way.

Lay your head upon my shoulder it will be okay!

The moment has come!

Stand up and be strong.

Follow me through till the end of this fight.

All the pain will evaporate.

Keep hanging on.

Let it out of you.

Don't ever give in.

You fought for so long.

Don't let this win.

Stand and scream at the top of your lungs with me.

Pick up your weary head.

Look out into the world.

The war inside is done.

Keep holding on.

This is an ode to hope, and a dream of escape from a bad place of experience. Letting go of shame can be very liberating. The last great act of pure pain in my life was the hardest, and it was letting go of shame for who I thought I was, according to others. I became who I am now, and it was a roller coaster. As my friend Cheeky Girl likes to say, "...feel the fear and do it anyway..."

The rewards can be so well worth it, chrissie. I love your optimism here, it is strong and positive and affirming. You can turn that page, and cross that stream. Give yourself credit for all the good things in your life. Each one is like a stair that leads on to where you are going.

Wishing you the best today, and wishing you the strength to endure always. :) I like this hub here today. And congrats on your 50th Hub, chrissie. Cool!

Nice poem. Feels like something Ive been through. Writing also helps me release its like therapy. We are what we experience and it makes us stronger in the end learning from our mistakes and overcoming our struggles and fears. YOu have to start from the bottom to get to the top. The farther you are from the top the better it feels to have made it there.
