myhublog

October 11th 2008

This is my first day of hubbing blogging .... just trying out expressing on this medium. I am a scientist working in Mumbai, India, in an internationally reputed institute. I am also an affiliated researh professor in a university in USA. Mostly spending time in trying to understand truth and enjoy it. That is perhaps best way to describe today's Science and Technology- activity.

But I am also thinking of one of my Danish friends, a lawyer. I made him attend once a lecture in Mathematics. After the lecture I asked him what he felt. His reaction was, "it is too serious and too formatted. The lecturer did not even once get out of his subject to make some general remark, no jokes of course, but even smiles were confined to subject etc." That is perhaps quite true. Scientists or Science/Technology professors express a lot, but prefer to stay within their range of subject. Over all this leaves out a lot. A blog can be used differently and I intend to do that.

I travel quite a bit, all over world. I have spent a lot of time in USA. I think of it as an almost second home country for me. I also spend a lot of time, reading news and news papers on internet from many different countries. I enjoy reading/watching movies, news, business- news, political- news, on tv, on internet or just classical paper format. I also like to form my own opinions, reactions on events and enjoy asking others to read or watch what ever I liked. Right now I do this with my wife, children and friends. Now I plan to do this via this blog. I hope some others will also enjoy it.

An Old Sanskrit shloka where a “Guru” (teacher) is inviting his “Shishya” (student) to study roughly says –

“ Come! Oh! Shishya! let us try to enjoy truth of this universe together”

(I do not remember exact shloka, if some body remembers please write in the comments).

On internet every body is guru and shishya at the same time.

“So let us try to enjoy together the truth and beauty of this universe”

Hi! lj!

Welcome! to these hubpages. This is an international site. You will find people not just from India but from any where in world including from China. Hope you will enjoy it.

Just like you I also want to learn how today's average Chinese thinks. I have many Chinese friends in USA. But I do not know much about those in China so far. I did not write much about China but among my articles China does appear some times. Some times critical comment some times very appreciative of progress in China and with problems similar to those India or other countries face.

In a lot of ways average people in India and China are very similar. They have similar problems very similar ideas and style. Here are some articles from my articles where China occurs.

Do write your comments.

Also please do write hubs about china. I will be one of very eager readers.

Hi! You just became my fan, so I am discovering your hubs. It is exciting to me to know that some people so very far away are reading what I write and that I can learn about them also here on HubPages. I also sincerely enjoy the truth and beauty all around me. In fact, there is so much I am overwhelmed by it sometimes and writing and meditation are the only ways I can keep my meager brain from a complete blow out!

Thanks a lot mega. Writing and meditation is quite a bit. Wish you all the good luck I am enjoying some of chapters of your book.

Thanks a lot Sheila. This was actually my first article on hubpages almost 3 years back. So your comment is indeed very encouraging for me.
