oh dear

My friend of 16 years

the silence is so different now

i really can't explain

the sounds i used to hear

whenever i called her name

the scratches on my door

please let me in

i shall never hear them again

her age was something

i just forgot

she seemed so young

time goes by as did she

for cancer took her away

i had to put my cat down

just yesterday

I MISS HER VERY MUCH

So sorry, Merle, I know the feeling. My dog died a few years back. I lost a faithful and loving friend.

Merle I'm very sad for you. My buddy Wilmer died on Nov. 20 of last year and just before that my son's dog Colt died at 14 years old. It's crushing, everyone says we should enjoy the time we had with them and while that's cool it really doesn't help. I always said if I got another pet it would be a parrot but then the parrot would outlive me. I wish you Peace in your sadness. Tom *** Love the photo

Tom...Thanks and sorry also for your sadness with Wilmer, it is never easy.

She has been such a fun companion for me these last 4 years and though she was quiet I heard her all the time and there is now such a un-nerving quietness here...I guess now I am really alone, and it feels thata way too..'poor me' I know waaa waaa, always something to shed a few tears over...Women ! ! !

Have a great day...:O) Hugs G-Ma

Merle that's what I like about you. You let it go and there's nothing wrong with felling a bit sad about things. Can you imagine all the folks with no feelings? The trick is to not let that part overtake the happy, silly part and from that new photo of you it looks like you got the silly down :-) What was your girl's name? Love and Peace!! Tom

justom...yes I guess it would have been nice to include her name...JUICE...I had adopted her from an elderly gentleman long ago and he gave her that name...

When I asked how he came abt chosing it his answer was "well there was this great trial and I wanted her to have a name that wouldn't be forgotten"

I am sure you can figure that one out...:O) and yes I can be silly as you see..smiles are frowns turned upsidedown...so I am told...:O) Hugs Merle Ann/ G-Ma

I don't know what it's worth really, I should check it out though. I have a bunch of autographs, some that I would not part with (most) but that one has no real meaning for me. My former mother-in-law worked for a hotel where a lot of teams stayed and she got it for me. Id love to have Jimmy Durante's auto. I do have Moe Howard (3 stooges) that's kind of funny!! Love and Peace Merle Ann!! Tom

Tom, Yes Jimmy was at a Motel with a blonde in a small country town where my Aunt and Uncle owned a gas station right across the highway from a lake with a pier and great swimming.

He and this blonde were playing shuffle board, you know the kind painted on the cement? Boy am I aging myself, but then I am my age soooo!!!! anyway we were (as kids) watching and getting a charge out of this older man with such a pretty Young lady. Well there were some nice looking country boys hanging around also Hee Hee...like my age.

Cool you have so many autographs, wish I hadn't lost mine, but it is gone, no getting it back now...Oh yes I also had Chuck Jones,(Bugs Bunny cartoonist) and even sat on his lap, and mom took our picture? and where is it???? (as a small girl) at a square dance meeting my parents danced in..days of old we had a fun life I would say....Byee for now...:O) Hugs G-Ma

I have a cat 16 years old and she is indoor/outdoor but she use to have sense to come in out of the rain or cold and now she doesn't. I guess maybe they get Alzheimer's just like people, I am having such a time with her I wonder if she will make it through the winter and she is a cat Mom and I have shared the last sixteen years so it will be heartbreaking to have her die. I know your pain, I have buried many and none lived near as long as Lilly so I guess I should just be thankful. I am sorry and hope you and Mommy are doing well.

Polly, funny you say that cause Juice I believe also had some dementia, and I asked the vet he said 'Yes' they can have it. She seemed to forget when mealtime was and every time I let her in, even if it was 5 minutes later she would head to her food bowl.

Usually empty cause she had eaten it,and then meooow at me. She was such a sweetie and it is so lonely here without her. She really was company but I know she is safe now and not in pain and I think I have heard her meow a couple of times at me...Thanks sweet Lady for the comfort you bring...and mom is doing well we had a great day on Thursday...:O) Hugs G-Ma Merle Ann

Lilly doesn't eat enough but with winter coming on her fur grows longer and fuller making it look like she is bigger, she looks really healthy but she lays in the rain and has a wheeze and it is all I can do to keep her from getting sick. I love her like a baby though and I pet her more lately and I think she really appreciates that.

You should get you a new little kitten or better yet get 2, they are more fun that way and less demanding, and soon those socks will start disappearing without a cat!

God gives us cat people for a time to keep us company. I know people that plan on asking God for their pet in heaven. They figure that in heaven they can have anything they want and are going to ask God for their friend. I had a pet bird and halfway thought about doing that myself. However since heaven will be so full for me I just don't know if I'll ever think of it.
