Oh wretched one

Witchy Woman

Introduction

This is my seventh attempt at poetry and a totally new genre. Although narrative in style it is somewhat relational.

Be careful not to get too caught up in this poem. It is only partially true and what you read is not what you get.

I hope you enjoy.

Oh yes, probably many of you have been there.

Why the call?

Love at first sight it was not

No attraction, no desire

No beauty at all

Why oh wretched one the call?

Her appearance mundane, her eyes glazed

Her skin dry and flaking from time

Her fading complexion like a dismal sunset

With spots a leopard would hide

Yes, only need, only convenience

No love, not even like

Her very thought repulsed me

Oh wretched one you are

The time moves with bitterness

Her wretched charm of dependency

She knows only too well

My very being she carries

Oh this wretched one she is

Only too well I know

A love-hate relationship

Only too well I know

I want her, I hate her, I need her

This wretched one of my soul

Daily the emotions run high

She screams; she shouts

I shriek and shutter

Her steam of anger spews forth

This wretched one

Oh how she abuses me

Over and over again

Will she leave or will she stay?

A man though I am

The pain is too much

My knuckles, my back

Both stained with blood

My palms filled with sweat

Fighting back her repulsive flesh

Her filthy residue intrudes my body

Oh this wretched one

I am at my limit

No more can I take

She must go, I must go

This wretched one

I want to fight back

I want her destroyed

Her complete destruction a must

But maybe from another

For me divorce must do

My soul seeks freedom

My soul seeks freedom

From this wretched mistress of the road

Yes, I need a new car

Thank you Debbie, if I ever get caught up I would love that. With the political season as a reporter/writer the paper has me going, going, going. Thanks for the second read and comment. I love the eagles. My 2nd favorite group to the Beatles, then the Beach boys, then Chicago.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I am so sorry it made you cry. But glad you finally LOL. I was so mad at that car. FYI- in 2008 I had a seizure while driving. No one was hurt, nobody's property damaged, only my van which hit a small brick wall and totaled my van. Not fun.

Yes it was fun Audrey. Not really being a poet, I am finding I can have a little fun with this genre from time to time. Thanks for taking the time to read and I appreciate the comment.

Thanks so very much Ghaelach. This one was just plain fun as I had just had it out with my personal vehicle the day before. So, in a way, it was from the heart....LOL Thanks again.
