Natures Fury

Updated on January 20, 2015

Awesome Power.

winter,summer,freezing storm

no true source for keeping warm

seasons opulence,a beautiful thing

nature stands up,if only to sing

fortuitous flirting by the trees and birds

A way of communication, can't be put in to words.

Natures Fury,a thing to behold

Cataclysmic storms,stories to be told.

pounding houses,factories on our street

heaven and hell,can possibly meet

howling wind,driving rain

natures power is almost insane.

turbulent,traumatic,involving and draining

people say prayers, hope glory is gaining.

does the power subside, will the storm be tamed

Peoples life's quite often are maimed.

tosses and turns, flips houses and cars

nature invades all, there are no bars.

everlasting power,never ceasing to torment

people scared for their lives, the vision is meant.

stand by the bunkers, hope for the best

hope nature takes few and leaves the rest.

hope there's calm after the storm

houses held up and kept us warm.

The occassional moaner.

i live in Scotland,we are not noted for having the best weather.we have sparkling summers, then brutal winters.we get one extreme of weather to the next.i hear people complain when it rains and complain when it's too warm.then on television you see somewhere like the Phillipines having a tropical storm,or other unstable regions in the world, after seeing these pictures on the news, and the horror of thousands of lives lost.i reckon we actually have it pretty good.ive seen some of the worst storms in Scotland, some unbelievably cold winters, but they are nothing compared to what other countries have to suffer. We can get huge storms, really hot summers, the difference with our seasons,a death in the UK down to seasonal weather is very much the exception to the rule, abroad it seems to be an inevitable part of life.Death always follows storms in these countries.

Visions of beauty.

Booming and banging.

razor sharp lightening

booming thunder

what follows this storm

i can only wonder

will there be death

i hold my breath

will victims survive

we pray they're still alive.

is there enough help

will emergency services cope

questions we alll ask

things we all hope.

pick ourselves up

try get back to a normal life

try forget the horrors

try ignore the strife.

Turbulent yet calming.

Hurricane facts.

Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Ike in 2008 rank as two of the most powerful storms ever recorded.

Hurricane Charley in 2004 and Hurricane Andrew in 1992 are notable due to being two of the worst storms regarding flooding.

One early Hurricane record was in 1502,Christopher Columbus predicted this Hurricane and said it would strike the island of Hispanola,he warned the island Governor Nicholas de Ovando of his prediction.the Governor ignored his warning, resulting in the deaths of 500 sailors and the sinking of 21 ships.

Environmental Causes of Hurricanes.

Scientists say that climate change is a rising cause and contributor to hurricanes.over the years the planet has heated up by several degrees due to environmental damage and pollution, causing more frequent and more powerful storms. If the pattern continues, there will inevitably be bigger and more frequent hurricanes.Countries need to look at theyre pollution scales,we all need to do our bit to help the planet, simply ignoring the issue won't make it disappear.some countries pollute a lot more than others, there needs to be wholesale change for the future welfare of the planet and the people who inhabit it.if we do nothing in the next one hundred years, scientists say more islands will disappear under water, the tide will continue to rise due to polar ice caps melting.if we continue to abuse the planet, the future won't be a healthy one.

Government Slacking.

the Governments of the world have a lot to answer too aswell.over the years it's been well publicised certain governments favouring certain types of fuels and industries to ensure campaign money keeps flowing in.if the Coal manufacturers back certain political parties or nuclear powered plants back certain parties, then that's the party line they will follow.they would promote certain power industries dependant on how much money big industrues put in to their political campaigns. What type of power is best for the planet as a whole? This I think should be decided by Environmental Specialists, people who don't have a vested interest or political affiliation.independant people who can give an honest opinion on what's best for the human race as a whole.People who's opinion is not based on how much they are paid, then and only then will the planetary issues be solved.its also dependant on no political interference at all.no government input.Just expert opinion to solve the long term issues we all face.

Kids and grand kid futures?

what happens if we do nothing,we doom our future generations to a life of hell.unpredictable climates, more hurricanes and typhoons. I speak to my kids all the time about issues of this matter.i think they get bored with me always moaning at them to recycle our plastics, metals and glass.i like to think we all do our bit if we can.i have recycled for years now, long before it became a trendy issue in the media, like a lot of people.i find the recycling issue rears its head in the media when a politician or political party makes it part of their agenda for winning an election.this is a good thing I suppose, even if it's a politician using the issue to further his own career.i can handle it,it's a good cause after all.its not in the media enough probably.

Power personified.

What can we do?

Do we force our political leaders to do more?

See results

Nature Will Win.

will nature succeed, where man has failed?

will we suffer in future,,will our futures be nailed?

is there time to change,or is it too late?

has nature and our chances already closed the gate?

can the damage be rectified, are there enough years?

or are we finished,do we realise our worst fears?
