Pride in our Country-no matter what the name
Pride in our people
As an American, I feel pride in the Red, White, and Blue of our flag. But the colors aren’t the reason, the people are the reason. I know that most of you out there have pride in your Country, State, Province, Borough or Town no matter what the colors of the flag that represents it. So here is a tribute to everyone, from everywhere, to glow with pride for their part of the world.
Flags are reminders
It isn't the flag we have pride in, but the people the flag represents! Our people, our country, our world.
The Pride we Feel
The pride we feel, we don’t always show,
Until someone causes our family woe.
Then we rally, our pride renewed.
And the enemies become very few.
Lately, though, our pride has faltered.
Have we had our pride altered?
No, just dampened a bit from the rain of wit,
Others thought would fix our fading bit.
But we don’t need colors or calls to raise our pride,
Just the right kind of people before us to stride.
Our pride isn’t in the colors, but in all the people,
Who may be shy, brave, caring, young, or feeble.
The people make our Country Grand!
The people make our Pride to Stand!
Note to any representative of the people:
The people do have pride and if you push them too far they will fight back. Before you act, like when you teach your children, think about what could happen. Then take the better ending path for a happier future.
