Saccharine, Sugary, Serenade
Yesterday, I published a hub about some of my written poems that tackled high school pains and torment. I entitled it “Vintage Anecdotes of Bitterness” because it speaks too much hatred and every single word of it spelled as l-o-a-t-h. As what I have mentioned, bitter gourd will have a run for their money with these furious rants.
On the lighter side of the note, I have found a few sweet ones that are sugary to the nth level. Honestly, I can’t even remember that I wrote such kind of saccharine-coated speeches because as far as I know I am not labeled as romantically sweet guy. In fact, upon reading, one of my eyebrows is raised because I really think that every stanza of those poems with a quixotic undertone is laden with corn. In short, it’s corny.
Hence, for you to know what I am talking about, I have here some of my works …
Cheesy content, grammar errors and run on ahead. Keep yourself secured because you’ll surely cry and die...laughing.
I wrote these poems and rhyme them with a tune…in my head (sorry, I can’t play a guitar)
Burning On Fire
“It’s like burning on fire
The pressure’s getting high
I cannot escape the heat
Baby, I keep burning in your love
Your bodies hot too much
I am melting in your kiss
And I cannot resist
Baby, I keep burning in your love
Come on and light me up now
Burn me with your fire
But you know I can’t take it
And you’re the water that I need”
Oh My God! What did a high school boy talk about when he wrote a poem about fire? Moreover, you have words like kiss, heat and baby. For the sake of my Adsense, I would keep myself quite. Next poem please! (LOL)
Perfect Illusion (Wish You Were Real)
I stop Earth revolving to touch you
‘Cause I know you’re just a dream
Tomorrow’s gonna be a nightmare
With monsters here, there and everywhere
I stop time a moment to see you
‘Cause I’m insatiable for just a blink of my eye
And then, you’re done and gone
You’re the perfect illusion that I’ve seen
You’ve shown me where heaven is in
Even you’re unreal, you taught me
How to love, not in the words you say
But in a special way
Sometimes I wish you were real
And that’s what I feel
Was I deeply in love with a ghost of any unseen entity? Or this is just a simple tale of unrequited love affair?
Oh, I really hate math
I guess many would agree to that
‘Cause it makes my brain like a twisted knot
Oh, I really that subject
In problem solving, indeed I’m pathetic
Some of my lessons I take a nap
‘Cause it makes my world spins like top
But there’s something happened in my life
That completely changed my belief
That’s when I fall in love so deep
More thinking of you is what I add
Minus more childish things I had
Then, I multiply all the love
No need for the division
And that’s my love equation
You love the girl. You hate math. Kids, you now have the perfect equation of a miserable high school life.
On the lighter side of the note, who would forget this era of life when we are young, happy and fragile at the same time? I will never forget my high school days. I may be bombarded with insecurities and sadness. I may be hurt for various reasons but I learned that I had a myriad number of reasons to smile. Young love, first times, broken heart. These are more than just written exams, surprise quizzes and terror teachers. And as I end this, I would like to quote the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ song called “Can’t Stop”. This life is more than just a read through.
