Love Upon Sand Poem

Love Upon Sand Poem

All love that has not friendship for its foundation,

Is liken unto a palace built upon sinking sand.

Though strong its walls like Jericho,

Standing tall on pillars of gold,

And embellish artistically with rare treasures from around the world,

Even from deep sea below and beautiful flower gardens to behold,

Though it stand the most fairest in the land,

And decorated with fountains on every hand,

There it stand a magnificent palace of glory.

For low suddenly comes from the east,

A rushing mighty breeze to test its fate and glory,

And from the heaven above a surge of little tiny drops,

To beat against its walls day in and day out.

For low the palace wasn't what we thought,

To the ground the fair structure fall.

For its foundation could not support at all.

Work on a love that has true friendship,

To endure whatever comes and goes.

You can rest assure that it will hold,

So dig deep down in the soul,

And build a foundation of love and friendship.
