Shine

There is a light that burns for all to see

Into the darkest of windows

Through the shutters that lock

Into the doors that are bolted

Sealed tight and slammed shut.

Into the hearts of the lonely

Into the souls of the bleak.

Into the broken down person hands raised in defeat

This light is delivered through hands that hold tight

Through the promise of tomorrow

Through the understanding of the night

It’s in all good deeds

Some big

But most small

It’s through love and compassion

This light guides us all.

It’s a light that burns brighter

At the end of every year

Every day.

It’s a light that comes from all good things…

From the best of intentions

From the hope that light brings

Blinding the evil, whose intentions are dark.

 It outshine your mistakes

And every ill thought

It is the light of the heart

That will shine through us all.

LOVE this! I have a tattoo on my foot that says, "Above all, love." It's from 1 Peter in the Bible. I am in love with LOVE! :0) It makes the world go around, does it really? Great poem.
