Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games Trio

Updated on January 8, 2012

Suzanne Collins Books

Suzanne Collins is the author of several best selling books for young adults. She wrote the Underland Chronicles as well as the The Hunger Games. This review is about The Hunger Games series. The series includes three books. Book one is The Hunger Games. Book two is Catching Fire and the third is Mockingjay which will be released in just a few days. The Hunger Games is loved by both teen boys (because of the action) and teen girls (because of the romance). I read these books myself and loved them. My son begged me to read them because he thought it was unfair that I read Twilight as recommended by my daughters. So, as requested, I read the books, or should I say I devoured them. My son was right. This is a terrific series.

The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is the 1st book of the trio written by Suzanne Collins. It is set in the futuristic United States. Or should I say what is left of the Us. Whats left of the country is 12 provinces which are controlled by the "Capitol". Food is scarce and the Capital uses food as a way of controlling the provinces. Once a year families are each forced to enlist their teenager into a lottery. From this lottery one boy and one girl from each province is force to fight until the death in the Hunger games. They are forced to fight against the other teens from the other provinces. Our Heroine, Katniss is from Province 12. Will she survive the Hunger games? You will need to read the book to find out.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire

Suzanne Collins second installment of the Hunger Games Trilogy is Catching Fire. This book continues where the other book left off. However Katniss has now created a enemy with the Capitol. In this book there is almost as much action outside of the arena and inside. Action lovers will be very pleased with book two. However there is romance for those of us who are rooting for love.

Mockingjay -Releases August 24th

Mockingjay (The Final Book of The Hunger Games)

Fans are so excited to see that Suzanne Collins last Hunger Games Boo, Mockingjay will be released on August 24th. Although it appears that Katniss has survived another Hunger Wars, it now looks like things are about to erupt into a huge revulsion. And it looks like Katniss is torn between two Gale and Peeta. We are all biting are nail in anticipation of the third book of the trio.
