The Search for a Sign

Wonders in the Heavens Above!

Spirit of God Hovering
Spirit of God Hovering

A Sign

Ever searching, always looking
Oh but for a sign

The spirit hovering, the earth changing
In all, is there a sign?

The sun, the moon, the stars
For man, God’s design

The sky, the cloud, the pillar of fire
God leads, man follows, His way never tires

Time moves, God stands
Man is in awe
He looks for the sign
If only for the sign

Enoch leaves, walks with God
Space, time, another sign?

Many wonder, even more wander
God speaks, Noah listens
A sign, yes a sign

The darkest of skies, the clouds full
Water, rain, flood, an ark
God’s protection, God’s plan
A sign, a new design

Then the prophets, Isaiah but one
Cherubs, seraphs, the temple sure
A sign, God gives the sign

One is to come
Salvation He will bring

The news from Gabriel
God’s messenger sure

A virgin conceives
Signs, ever the signs

The Heavenly Host
The Heavenly Host

The signs, ever the signs

The host from heaven, God’s abode
In blinding light, praise they proclaim
To shepherds they appear
The one is here, He is near

The one, He has come
His love, His life, His to sacrifice

The star, the brightest star
Wise men, the magi, they follow
They too look for the sign

Then the sign, the continuing sign
He lives, he dies, he lives again
Angels attend, He ascends
Yet again, still another sign

Again with the prophets, the words they foretold
Once more searching and always looking

The signs, the wonders
The stars, the planets, the heavens above
Oh for the peace from the sign of the dove

Strange lights, visitations are claimed
Those who witness say His wonder they see

The heavens are searched with careful array
A new earth they claim they now see
The warmth of sun and oceans abound
Could this be another sign they have found?

Ever seeking, the signs abound
The wonders of the heavens all around

Now Mercury, planet closest to our sun
Something different, something strange

Circling in orbit, the sun shines bright
An object glows
What is this light?
The questions flow

Again the signs, ever the signs
Ever searching, always looking

Time approaches, the planets will align
And so the sign, ever the sign

The Return of Jesus
The Return of Jesus

He will return, He promised to come

The One who came
Him, only Him by no other name

He will return, He promised to come
To everyone, not just for some

And so we wait, we continue our search
Never ceasing, always looking

For the sign, the ultimate sign
A trumpet sounds and we know
Yes, we know

Jesus, the only one
He is near, He is here
It’s time to go

The promised one,
Jesus, has now returned
