Worker Bees

Worker Bees

By A. Gagliardi

Like lemmings to the sea
To early coffee houses
With work masks in place
And steady workers’ pace
They wait for their jolt awake.

A thousand tramping feet
Press out into the street
Ten thousand hands and heads
Blend mind and soul and beat –
Then transport from home to work.

A million eyes & ears
Have risen from their beds
From blessed slumber part
Impatient for the day to start
They hear and see for fee

automat worker bees

Taking a coffee break.
Taking a coffee break.
No break is too small.
No break is too small.
