Celebrity Kitchen Countertops
Kitchens serve as the heart of many homes, whether in Hollywood or across the US. They are rooms that promote gathering together, sharing, and creating. They are rooms where many people spend hours daily. What better room to infuse with a distinctive and personal style then one that will reflect a household’s personality and welcome others in?
For those who aren’t sure where to start, celebrities can be valuable sources of style inspiration. Stars have access to the best products, the top designers, and premier services, which means their décor choices are often imitation-worthy. This is certainly true of the following celebrity kitchens. Perhaps one of them can provide the inspiration needed to guide a kitchen makeover. From granite countertops to sleek cupboards to rustic wood, these kitchens represent the range of decorating options.
Friendly and Functional: Taylor Swift, Rene Zellweger
White, wood, and light have been common features shared by two of Taylor Swift’s homes and one-time home of Rene Zellweger, making her kitchens simple, accessible, and cheerful. All three kitchens featured wood floors, white countertops, and prominent windows. Butcher block countertops make these kitchens very functional and homey while remaining clean and simple.
Dark and Masculine: Gerard Butler and Bruce Willis
Almost the opposite of the above ladies’ kitchens, both of these tough guys keep things dark and rustic. Both feature dark wood cabinetry, and Butler’s is noted as being made from leftover flooring material. Willis chooses a dark stone countertop, sans the common glossy finish, for an elegant yet subdued look. Butler mixes in more materials, with a heavy wood table, marble backsplash, and standout chandelier, while Willis keeps things simpler with just wood, stone, and stainless steel.

- 2014 Top Kitchen Trends
Want to do some kitchen improvements this year, but don’t know where to start? No worries, here are the hottest kitchen trends for 2014 according to Zillow
Sleek and Modern: Courtney Cox, Justin Timberlake, and Giada de Laurentis
These three celebrities all made their names in different fields, but they have comparable taste when it comes to kitchens. All have chosen kitchens with hard lines and two-tone color schemes, combining the sharply contrasting white and dark brown. Drop-down lighting features also serve as a noticeable focal point with all three, and tall stools at a countertop are another common feature. Giada’s immaculate white marble countertop provides an ample surface for the chef’s culinary creations, while Courtney Cox opted for Caesarstone.
Comfy and Colorful: Diane Keaton, Bobby Flay, and Sharon Osbourne
Once again, these three celebs have distinct personalities, and maybe that’s why each of their kitchens stands out from the crowd. All three depart from the popular whites, blacks, and browns to splash their kitchens with inviting color and personality. Keaton’s kitchen’s most notable feature is the bold mosaic tile that covers her breakfast bar and its countertop, and brightly colored dishes displayed atop white cabinets continue the contrast. Flay brings the color in on the cabinets themselves, using robin’s egg blue to make his kitchen as appealing as his cooking. Sharon Osborne also uses tones of blue on the walls and on her wooden island, topped with a stone counter. The kitchen is by far the most accessible and comfortable room in the otherwise formal California home.
Bold Black and White: Christina Aguilera, the Kardashians
The contrast between black and white never gets old, and it can take on either a subdued or very vibrant look, as these two kitchens demonstrate. The Kardashians’ simple, solid colors along with their polished stone countertop and built-in wine rack gave their former home a traditional, homey appeal, accented by the unique ceiling and lighting. Aguilera, on the other hand, combines black and white in a variety of striking patterns and adds pops of color to make her black and white kitchen playful, youthful, and fun.
Classic and Cozy: Will and Jada PInkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harris, Penelope Cruz, Andie McDowel
Classics are classics for a reason, and these celebrities put their own spin on traditional kitchen looks. All feature dark wooden cabinets and at least some stainless steel, and most feature beautiful granite countertops. Patrick Harris puts a more modern twist on these elements, with his uniquely-shaped central granite countertop island, while MacDowell’s echo’s the Tudor style of the rest of her home. The Smiths emphasized the organic with heavy wood beams and paneling, while Cruz’s double ovens and spacious counters look inviting and functional.
