Advantages of a Quartz Countertop

There are many different types of stone countertops that you can pick and choose from in order to find the kind that would best fit your needs and home. One of the most popular types of countertops available is the quartz countertop. There are many different reasons that compel people to choose these countertops and there are far more advantages to quartz than there are drawbacks.

Durability and Resistance

One such advantage to installing a quartz countertop is that it is resistant to many of the usual kitchen or bathroom activities. For example, quartz is highly resistant to stains, scratches, and scorch marks. Quartz is a non-porous stone, which means that it can resist stains from such infamous stain makers as make-up, coffee, wine, and several other common substances in the household. Furthermore, quartz does not need to be sealed in order to keep its shine like other stones, such as granite. Quartz may have some resistance to basic heat but precautions such as trivets and potholders should be used in order to reduce the potential for damage. Also, quartz is one of the hardest stones in nature-only diamond, topaz, and sapphire are harder-and therefore, are naturally scratch resistant.

Attractive Colors and Styles

There are several other reasons why quartz countertops belong to the most popular stone countertops available today. For starters, the natural diversity of colors and hues in the stone means that there is generally a color for anyone and any style. Also, the quartz is easily shaped, which means that there are virtually unlimited ways to cut the edges of the countertop. Therefore, there are many different style types to fit your personal style and decor the best. A quartz countertop is one of the most diverse countertops one can buy simply because it can be cut in so many different ways and there are so many colors one can choose from.

Many Innovations in Installation Options

Because quartz countertops are so popular, they also offer some of the most innovative options when it comes to installation. Such innovations include the installation of sinks, cuts of countertops, and several other types of processes that are well developed in order to cost less money and take less time.

Maintenance Free

The last well known advantage of using quartz in your countertops is that they are relatively maintenance free. Because quartz is non-porous and, therefore, does not need to be sealed there is no maintenance necessary. The natural resistance of the stone does all the maintenance for you regardless of what you do to it.

There are many other advantages to quartz in your home countertops. However, the stone's resistance, durability, wide range of colors, and lack of maintenance all make the quartz countertop one of the most popular stone countertops available. Luckily, because of the popularity there is a large availability of this type of stone countertop. Also, the stone is naturally readily available for mining, which means that the countertop is not as expensive as it otherwise would be. Should you choose to have quartz countertops installed in your home you will be able to find many good deals on both the countertops themselves and the installation services.

Interesting and useful. I have granite, and I have not sealed it. So, I have seen stains and I have to work hard to get it off.
