The Sump pit will have a sand bottom with patio blocks on the higher side of the floor and plain sand in the lower side of the floor . The floor is two different depths so we can place five gallon buckets under the clean outs and drain off the waste.

Here you can see how much of the box sticks out of the ground. We will landscape this to cause the rain water to run away from the pit.

This is the dirt that came out of the Sump Pit hole and this is what we will do to the two sides of the Pit box that sticks out above ground level. This will aid in water run off.

These six tanks will allow us to add systems as we go and to aide in cleaning and maintenance of the garden's individual systems without shutting down the others.

These are Banjo fittings. I had to replace one of these and they cost about fifteen dollars each for a 1 1/4inch size hole.

Here is a wire tie that I was using to tie the cattle panels together I have since gotten lighter ties as these are hard to work with.

This is My Weekend Off, So I Gots to Get'er Done!!

Boy I sure didn't think I'd be planting my seeds so late in the year. But Saturday the 22nd is my day to Get It Done.

I have just about everything I need too. But Time. Time its been hard finding the Time and when I got It. It wants to rain on my dime. Not a soft summer rain. No! But a torrential downpour. Every time I found some time this year I was rained out. Are there evil forces here at work? I a have asked myself this a lot here in this last decade of my life. Maybe but, most likely not.

The farmers need the rain and it is good for everyone else too! As it helps bring the water levels back up from the past few years of drought that we have in our area. And I will have our Green house here completed before the cold sets in so no worries. I will do this as soon as I find some suitable plastic.

A Blue Heron visited us the other day and I saw quite a few bass jumping and mouthing the pond's surface this week. And I do believe I struck out this year. The Fish balls are all but gone. Maybe next year I will be able to nab some up? I will start off with Gold fish and feeder guppies this year and I will than have extra live food for the next season's crop. I will also do a little seining in the local streams for minions and whatever else we can get.

This was a little bit of a let down as I did already buy forty pounds of fish fed for those that I thought I'd catch this weekend. All in good time I guess, all in good time. I will plant our seeds tomorrow and I will do a lot of the plumbing for the NFT system part of our build on Sunday if I don't get rained out. But for the filtration system she have to wait. The rain has flooded the Sump pit box again and that will take a day or two to dry up. Here are some new pictures of what I have gotten done since our last Hub on the 20th of May 2013.

This is not a hard thing to do. It does although require Time and a little bit of money. Along with a few weak minds and a couple of strong backs. I have the weak, mind but the strong back I lack. So I am at the mercy of the availability of our machines and our laborers who are often times very ready to head home after a day of Drilling or Mowing. Especially now that the heat is kicking in. Not to mention the humidity. It wears ya down quickly the heat. And you feel like doing very little after a long days work.

But I think we will get this up and cycling before the 15th of July I hope. Then all the true learning begins and the tweaking and the maintenance. A learning curb for all of us who will be working with the Garden here at Sowles Well Service. After the Garden is up and running we are going to be looking at starting a chicken coop of about 10-14 laying hens. We are thinking about It and possibly some meat rabbits. And If I get no help with these things I have left before were up and running that is all it will be some thinking.

The true currency when the "Shit hits the fan" is food and fresh drinking water and the ability to defend it. No one I know can eat cold hard cash for long and survive. Food, Water, and the Ability to Defend It and lets us not forget shelter.

Now if things start to get better and the economy picks back up! There is still a very good chance of turning a profit with an Aquaponics Garden / Nursery. There is good money in vegetation. Plants, Ornamental, Fruit Trees, and Flowers can be grown just as easily as Organic foods. And the demand for such things are still in high demand from consumers in certain parts of the country today.

I have a video I had to split it up some because our account at youtube still has us limited to ten minute segments. I hope you enjoy and I hope you are making plans to secure your own gardens and water supplies as well as getting at least a six months reserve on hand if you are unable to grow your own.

Seeds will become as good as cash to the right groups and fresh water as good as gold don't get caught without them; if at all possible. Personal sustainability is the only true freedom one will have and the strongest of freedom fighters. Strong enough to take on this coming Governmental body claiming world domination. She is trying to force her hand giving some of us time to prepare.

Update of Our Aquaponics Garden Build

We Got Water In Our Tanks As of Today

I have some water in tanks we are testing them for leaks and cleaning a few that were used for spaying weeds and fertilizing crops. We are using vinegar to neutralize whatever is left behind from their rinsing out. This should make it safe for us and the fish if the fish die we'll have to try again until they don't. But I think we be just fine I will clean and rise the tanks and troughs again before tying the system all together and cycling It as one body of water. This is what it is One Body a closed loop system.

Our fish will tell us how healthy the system is. By watching them we will be able to tell whether we need to adjust or not. Plus we will get some water quality test kits and do weekly test until we are comfortable with our set up and its reliability.
