5 bags of debris now outside

Here are the five bags of debris waiting to be carted away along with the old flooring.

A funny anecdote: The neighbors have two dogs who live for the sound of a back door closing. They have figured out that this is a pretty good indication that we have some leftovers past their prime or no longer to our taste that we will put out for the critters. The critters include rabbits, stray cats, possums, squirrels, and perhaps a raccoon or skunk.

As soon as the back door closes, these dogs hightail it for our back yard and start slinking up the hill. They are a bit nervous and never get too close. The littler of the two dogs often barks like crazy when the door closes and no food has been put out. It is like she or he is protesting, "Hey, psych! Where is the food, dude?"

Because of these two dogs, the other critters rarely get a chance at the food.

On this day, after I had carried out the five bags of trash, I also carried out some boards that had nails in them. The last thing I carried out was a small chunk of concrete that was about the size of a small grapefruit. I threw it in the direction of the old flooring. Thinking it was food, these two dogs raced each other to the concrete.

I can just imagine their feeling of disappointment when they discovered it was inedible.

I took pity on them and got rid of some more food that had been sitting in the refrigerator longer than normal. One of the things I put out was the contents of a large container or plain yogurt. As I spooned it out, the dogs began wolfing it up. In my effort to  make certain the smaller dog got some soon, I tossed the contents of the spoon over the back of the bigger dog. Some of it accidentally landed on the side of the smaller dog's face.

They both kept wolfing up all the food I had put out and sniffed around for more. I watched them from inside for quite some time. I was hoping to see what would happen to that blob of plain white yogurt on the side of the smaller black dog's face. I finally gave up watching as I had other things to do. I wondered if the big dog ended up licking it off the smaller dog's face. Or would the smaller dog manage to snake his tongue around so he could lap it up? LOL!

Windows will be re-done

Can you see why we want to get the windows replaced?

We may have to take out a loan to do this; however, it will be worth it in the long run. These windows are not well insulated; plus, they look quite disreputable with that black peeling taping masquerading like window panes.
