Decorating with Chocolate Area Rugs
Almost everyone loves chocolate. Why not add a chocolate rug to your home and enjoy the visual appeal of the chocolate color in your home every day. The dark rich brown color of a chocolate area rug can bring a cozy feel to your home while also being elegant and adding color to the entire room. There are many shades of chocolate area rugs and many ways that you can add them to your home, making them the perfect addition.
When decorating with a chocolate rug or any rug for that matter you will want it to match the rest of the room's decor. One way to ensure that you do this is to match the window treatments in the room to the chocolate color. The colors do not have to be exact but should compliment one another and not clash. In fact it is best to not use the same exact color, think of it like matching a wardrobe, it is unlikely that you would wear the same exact top and bottoms, right? Some of the best colors to match a chocolate rug with are blue, green, and gold.
Chocolate Room Decor
While not always possible it is sometimes easiest to decorate a room's color theme from the ground up. Lucky for us a chocolate rug will match most couches and will normally blend in easily with pre-existing furniture.
If you do not have furniture yet in the room that you plan on having a chocolate rug in, than you may want to consider brown leather furniture. This matches good with the rug color and will create a peaceful looking room.
The next area that you would want to match with the chocolate rug is the items on the end tables and coffee tables. Consider adding green plants to the end tables. The green from the plants will match nicely with the rug and will also create a room with some life in it. Candles can also be used to create a similar feel.
Almost all stores that carry rugs will have chocolate colored rugs, making it easy to find one that will fit in your home. You can also shop online at sites like Amazon.com or eBay.
