Dyson DC23 TurbineHead Canister Vacuum

The Dyson DC23 TurbineHead Canister Vacuum will never lose its suction. This is the claim made by the manufacturer Dyson. It is supposed to be so technological advanced that the suction power will always maintain the same power it came with, or at least for 5 years, which is how long the warranty is. With a technology called “Level 3 Root Cyclone Technology”, I would think most consumers would probably take their word for it.

Super Suction Power of the Dyson DC23 Bagless Vacuum

The problem with most conventional vacuum cleaners is that they come with a dust bag and a filter, which will more than often crimp the suction power when the amount of dust builds up in the bag. The Dyson DC23 did away with the bag and installed an easy to empty dustbin that you would not even have to touch; hurray for us clean freaks…and for those of us who have carpeted floors, the turbinehead with the brushbar design is able to spin and gather all those pet fur, human hair, microscopic dirt and bits from last Christmas dinner. The amount of dirt that it is able to suck up is actually quite amazing. You will be surprised or maybe revolted by the amount of dirt that you were living with. The design of the turbinehead is also well-conceived, such that it is able to reach many of those corners and bottoms that other more clunky vacs are not able to reach. Maybe that is where I lost my last brownie..

You can also turn off the brushbar when you are vacuuming the hard floored parts of the house. The DC23 glides smoothly front and back, and it has a good feeling of suction that you can even see dirt quickly get suck into the air cyclone. No need to worry about scratches if your house is laid with hardwood even if you had the brushbar switched on, the bristles are actually quite long so it will not scratch the wood. The Dyson DC23 also comes standard with 3 accessories; the stair tool, brush tool and the crevice tool. The Stair tool will help you to vac your stairs, even if your stairs are covered with carpets or mats. The brush tool will dislodge old hardened dirt and cobwebs for delicate cleaning, while the crevice tool will use high velocity airflow to clean those hard to reach places such as in-between furniture and grooves along the wooden flooring.

Design wise, the Dyson DC23 TurbineHead Canister Vacuum has a modern look, which is unlike the typical Hoovers and Dirt Devils. Very slick and a compact design also allow the DC23 vacuum to be stowed away easily. Should you leave it in the open, beside the shoe cabinet for example, it will surely not add any clutter to the look of your place.

Allergy and Asthma Certified

The DC-23 is also certified asthma and allergy friendly according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. It uses sealed HEPA filtration that traps dust and dirt inside and expels only clean air into your home. On top of that, this filter is also washable so you will just have to wash it every 3 months or so. No replacement of any parts such as vacuum bags or any other bits and pieces are required. Saves you a few dollars each month. The DC-23’s allergy friendliness is also endorsed by the British Allergy Foundation because of its root cyclone technology that promises to maintain the same level of suction throughout its lifetime and to be able to suck up even the smallest of dust particles. Even the National Asthma Council Australia has an exclusive acceptance for the Dyson DC23 for asthma sufferers.

Although the DC23 has all these endorsements, nothing beats a nose test by you. Try smelling the air that the DC-23 is expelling out after it has suck a dusty area of the house, you will be surprised that the released air is actually dust-free. To maintain its performance, just remember to clean its filter every couple of months.

What I do find undesirable is the price. It is currently selling at about $399 in the store although you can find it at $319 at Amazon (last I checked…could have changed, so do check on your own.. caveat emptor LOL). I guess quality does not come cheap but if you demand a high standard of cleanliness in the house or if you have someone who suffers from Asthma or is allergic to dust, you may want to consider buying such a machine. There are also a lot of reviews online that you can read about or you could visit Amazon to see what other personal opinions are available for this vacuum before you make your purchases online or at the local shop.
