The wagon seat comes in an unfinished wood made of popular so that it can be stained/varnished or painted.
You can order the hardware kit in unpainted or powder coated finish as well to build your own seat. The hardware kit comes with some dimensional drawings.
The wagon seat can also be order with the wagon bottom or a bench seat bottom to use as a stationary seat.
The wagon seat makes a rustic seat, either stained/varnished or painted that can be used inside, or outside.
If you’re looking for a bit more for something that is country but not as old and rustic, the reproduction buckboard seat may just do the trick.
The buckboard bench is available in beautiful finished oak or cherry. It can also be personalized with such things as, family names, name of a ranch, sayings and so forth.
The buckboard bench uses ornamental bench springs to give it the look of an old vintage seat.
They work fine for a stationary bench but would not hold up like the authentic wagon leaf springs. Using this style of spring on an inside bench helps offset the cost for the oak and cherry.
The buckboard bench hardware kit can also be purchased with very detailed plans for the woodworker who likes to build their own furniture items. Since the bench is for more indoors it the hardware only comes painted black.
For the real wood worker looking for a bigger project, hardware for two benches and complete detail plans can be ordered to build a country trestle style table with the two buckboard seats used as table seating.
Both style benches have angled back and side boards for comfortable seating. These benches work well with or without cushions.
