Here's a Quick Reference for Shipping and Mailing and just Finding the Closest Post Office
We can all use a little help now and then even with simple things like locating the Local Post Office in a new town
Sometimes when you move in the USA, whether it's into a new town or a different part of a city you ask a million questions and just as things start to settle down and life starts getting back to normal, you realize that you may have forgotten about a few things. The ones that usually trips me up are the location of the Borough Hall, Police Station, Library and Post Office. There are a few ways to locate a Post Office.
You can look at a Zip Code map. Most Zip Code maps actually serve as a Post Office locator by Zip Code. The advantage of the Zip Code map over the Area Code map is that there is usually only one Post Office in a Zip Code map but there can be several post offices in an Area Code map. Google offers a nice feature on its search pages that will help you locate a Zip Code. They display a map with the Post Office on it. It's not a Zip Code Map but it is a map. The USPS offers a website to do just this.
There is another website called Post Office USA. They offer users a map with the pinpoint of every Post Office in the USA on it. They list the area code of the Post Office and the street address of the Post Office. Other features are the postal rate calculator, and a package tracking feature that lets you track a package whether it is USPS, UPS, DHL and a few others. They have drop off locations for the other private carriers like the UPS drop off location and Fed Ex drop off location. They also have the locations of the Mailbox Etc locations. Post Office USA is a nice website when moving into a town.
