Making A Bed For Beginners
As you stand in the doorway of your bedroom, you realize that you have no idea how to make a bed! You start to panic and your palms become sweaty as you look at the bare bed. All it is now is a matress on top of a bed base. Nothing more.
So what do you need to make up this bed? First of all, you will need patience. Got that? Good! Now you will need the following: a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a duvet with an inner or if you have a comforter, great! The following are optional : a blanket or two and baby powder ( don't laugh; you'll see why).
First of all, let's pretend you are using everything listed above. Firstly, sprinkle a bit of baby powder onto your matress. Why? Well, spiders and other interesting creatures are less likely to come to your bed when you have baby powder on it! After you have done that, take the fitted sheet and pull a corner over each corner of the bed. If it doesn't fit, then you either have it the wrong way on or it is an incorrect size.
Now sprinkle a bit more baby powder. Then grab the fitted sheet and place in onto the bed. At the head of the bed, you can either pull the sheet up to the top and fold it one layer back or you may decide to leave it to the top. Next, put a blanket over the sheet and tuck it in, starting from the top of the bed. If you are not using a blanket, tuck the sheets in.
Once this is complete, put the duvet/comforter onto the bed and make sure it is hanging evenly on both sides of the bed. Then put the pillows onto the head section and voila! You have made your first bed.
There's nothing hard about it and with more practice, it becomes easier and done in less time. After all, practice makes perfect.
