Microwave Tomato Risotto

 If you love using the microwave but your results are not very good, then i have a challange for you today. I'm going to show you that the microwave is used more for just warming up foods and we are going to use the microwave to do it with and the dish that we are going to be working with is Risotto, Risotto is a very complex dish to prepare on the stove top now were going to do it in the microwave.


Tomato Risotto Microwave Style


4 tablespoons of butter

1 clove of garlic, minced

1 onion, chopped

1 (28 ounce) can of diced tomato

1 teaspoon basil

1 teaspoon oregano

1 1/2 cups of uncooked Arborio or other short-grain white rice

1 (15 ounce) can of tomato sauc1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese


In a 4-quart, microwave-safe dish, combine butter, garlic and onion, microwave on high for 3 minutes, then place the dice tomato, basil and oregano in the dish.  Microwave until hot but not boiling about 2 minutes.

Stir in the rice, cover and microwave on high for 6 minutes, stir in the tomato sauce and microwaveon high for an additional 10 to 12 minutes or until liquid is gone, stir in the Parmesan cheese and serve

Before you say it Yes I know it came from the microwave but if you follow this recipe just like I wrote it you will have a very tasty Risotto that your family and friends will all enjoy,
