Minnesota Musing: Do I Need a Hygge - Maybe I Do
What is Hygge?
Hygge is that moment where you are walking toward your house, after going 200 feet to the shed to obtain a screwdriver, and you imagine what God is thinking as you walk back to the house. It's that feeling of calm that strikes you and you realize that if given the opportunity to do that particular moment over again, that you wouldn't have to redo it, because it turned out the right way, the first time.
That is hygge. It's a feeling. It's a good feeling. It's the ability to stop and like the actions that you are in the middle of and feel good about them. Your destiny, as it is unfolding in your life. No wrong choices. No bad feelings.
Just a feeling of awe that you are doing it as it could ever be done.
Now I Understand the Song
I have always loved that one song that I hear, where it's a round, there is a repeated word, and others are singing another song, as they are chanting a word.
I just realized that it's the word.
Let me play a video and show you what I mean.
Not to Worry
Don't worry, even if you do have a few moments that you are not on track, those moments are intentional and you can learn from them.
Mistakes. A mistake is comparable to the piece of crunch that you feel between your teeth when you have a piece of sand on your food.
So Do I Need a Hygge?
So, do I need a hygge?
Of course I do. I embrace the moments that I have. Perhaps they aren't perfect, but they are what they are.
It is what it is. Can't change it. Don't want to.
Just take each day and learn from it. Enjoy them.
