Strolling down the tree-lined lane

I begin that simple act of devotion none need explain.

Dappled sunlight warms me through and through

And I smile at the joy of being in silent prayer with You.

Wind whispers through the towering sentry's leaves

Conducting a choir within the warm, gentle breeze.

This great, green canopy arching overhead

Leaves me nearly breathless with many wondrous things unsaid.

The allure of trees can inspire the simple and confound the sage

While our love of them fills many a page...

Linda, lot more said here than the words. I can identify. I look at the hills which sometime seems closer than they they are, and I get into that "simple act of devotion none need explain." Thank you!

Dear Ms. Dora, you are most welcome!

And your kindness and knowing bring joy to my heart. Thank you for reading and commenting. I too look to the hills from whence so much comes...L.

Trees are endearing and alluring. Many a time have I spent with my thoughts under the protecting branches of a wonderful tree.

Yes, Deb, I wholeheartedly agree...and celebrate those special times you've had, and will yet have. Many, many, many years ago I traveled and studied in India for a month. At one point in my journey, I was invited and guided to sit under an ancient, giant, majestic Bo tree. Reputed to be the very tree under which Buddha gained enlightenment, it didn't really matter to me whether it was the actual tree or not. An ancestor perhaps, the same type of tree. What struck me then, as now, is that it is no wonder the Buddha is said to have had his transformative experience under a great and grand tree. They have very special energy, strength, suppleness, and lessons to teach.
