Baby Susan And The Cup Cake.

Created Wednesday, August 17, 2011

Mommy was in the kitchen cooking dinner , and waiting for banana cup cakes to finish baking. Baby Susan sat on a high chair pounding her baby bottle on her tray , waiting impatiently as her red , glistening locks of clean combed baby hair softly touched the sides of her ears .

Mommy used her large oven mitten to grab hold of the hot muffin pan that was filled with delicious muffins. Baby Susan's eyes sparkled as they followed her mommy's pan to the kitchen table.

Baby Susan reached out wanting one . Mommy quickly removed a muffin ,and carefully placed it in a convenient saucer, blew at it until it was cool ,and then placed cream cheese icing beside it with a small plastic spreader. Baby Susan reached forward to claim her tasty treat with her small hands that had plump little fingers. She looked up to her mommy ,and then smiled big, and said, " thank you mommy ."

Mommy then situated herself perfectly as she returned a warm sweet, tender smile to her youngest child . Mommy said, " Susan, can you spread the icing on you're cake sweetheart , or would you rather mommy do it for you ?"

Baby Susan replied, " I can do it mommy." Baby Susan dipped her plastic spreader into her bowl of icing, and by the grace of, and angel ,managed to keep a ballanced performance by getting one good glob to completely cover the top of her muffin with enough icing to spread over two, then said " look mommy."

Mommy smiled at her child's good work of art, then gently guided baby Susan's icing spreading hand by maneuvering her arm , and hand with gentle , guiding motions , in her quest to assist Susan in completing her intentions .

With baby Susan's muffin finished , mom walked over to her refrigerator freezer to get the delicious strawberry ice cream so that her baby would enjoy her desert while she watched her daddy as he read his evening newspaper. Daddy said, " Honey, would you mind fixing me a muffin too , and can you glob on plenty of that cream cheese icing on it too."

Mom replied , " Honey would you like some ice cream on top of the muffin too ?"

Dad said, " Sure darling ."

Baby Susan ate half of her muffin, leaving crumbs behind.

Ah well, we females don't mind waiting on our daddies and husbands as long as they are sweet and love us which I think this daddy did. Great little heart warmer. GB

What a "sweet" tale you have written! I remember very well letting my two granddaughters frost their own cupcakes and the pride and delight it brought them. What a wonderful reminder you've given me of a memory as sweet as these tasty treats.
