The Florida Real Estate Exam Pass Fail Statistics For December 2012

Updated on January 5, 2013

2012 Is Over

In December, 2012, one thousand two hundred and sixty six real estate license applicants took the Florida real estate exam given by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for their first attempt. Six hundred and thirty one passed the Florida real estate exam. Six hundred and thirty five failed. All of them paid thirty one dollars for the experience. If three more had passed, the pass rate would have been fifty- fifty. 49.85% is the official pass rate for real estate sales associates taking the Florida real estate exam for the first time in December 2012. It is hard to study real estate during the Christmas season.

The news is worse for the real estate exam re-takers. That is my word for people taking the Florida real estate exam for the second or third or fourth time. One thousand two hundred and eighty two attempted the real estate exam for the second time in December. Four hundred fifty eight passed the exam. I can think of better ways to spend thirty one dollars. Eight hundred twenty four applicants will be paying thirty one dollars to try again. This Florida real estate exam is certainly no picnic.

There are nine states with which Florida has mutual recognition of real estate education. Applicants with a real estate license from these states don't have to take the one hundred question Florida real estate exam. They have to take a forty question "Florida Real Estate Laws and Rules " exam. They also pay thirty one dollars. Nine out of fifteen passed that in December.

One hundred and thirty Florida real estate broker applicants attempted the broker's test. Seventy five passed. That is a fifty eight per cent success rate. How about those broker exam re-takers? One hundred twenty paid thirty one dollars to take it again. Forty five passed. That is a thirty eight per cent pass rate.

If you are taking your Florida real estate exam soon, would you please recognize that this test is not a cake walk. The Florida real estate exam is no joke. You have to study. If you took your Florida real estate pre- license course from a gypsy school that is not in Florida, you have an extreme disadvantage. My best advice is don't take your basic course from a gypsy school that speciaizes in all fifty states. Take your course from a Florida school if you want a Florida real estate license. If you have already done it, realize you have learned a lot of stuff that you don't need to know and have not learned the stuff that you do need to know.

You are going to have to put forth the effort sooner or later before you pass the Florida real estate exam. Many people wait until they have paid the thirty one dollars to fail a couple of times before they start looking for help. To succeed with this Florida real estate math, you have to know the rates for deed stamps and note stamps and when these fees are paid. You have to know how many square feet in an acre.
