Today Is Music And Keyboard Day With Becky.

Thursday, April 13, 2013

Today will be the keyboard day. Becky has taken a little bit of , and interest in fooling around with a small Casio Keyboard. I had always hoped that Becky could take , and interest in keyboards because she could enjoy her music, and play it with her left hand. Becky can not use her right hand so she conveniently wraps her right arm on the top back of her wheelchair. Joann, and I really would prefer that Becky would not do that, but Becky insists on having her way, or she will scream bloody murder. Anyway her positioning her arm in that manner at least serves to stabilize her body to a good extent.

Anyway what I would like to do is to arrange something better for her right arm, however in the present time I have yet to figure that out.

Today I will move my large keyboard on the porch. I bought a nice folding table that Becky likes. The large keyboard will work well on it. The large keyboard has a large assortment of sounds, and tunes , for which the keyboard can be set. It also has internal instrumental music that she will like. I bought the keyboard, and a stand for it about six years ago, but Becky had no interest in it.The cost of the set up was around $370.00. I knew in my heart that Becky would eventually come around to taking a hands on interest in music because she has around four hundred to six hundred music disks.

Becky listens Too Reba, Elvis, George Strait, Simon, and Garfunkel, Nancy Sinatra, Frank Sinatra, Rock and roll musicians, and singers. Becky likes the Oak Ridge Boys, all kinds of Christmas music sung by the greatest singing artists that have ever lived. She likes Ben Crosby Christmas music.

Becky likes soft rock, and everything , and maybe some gospel music if it is done right. We have tons of music on tapes, and on disks.

Becky had around seven, or eight stereo tape , and CD players. She learned how to use them with her one hand. Years ago I built , and entertainment table that I measured special for her music related wares. It has lasted many years.

Becky enjoys listening to good music. I know she will eventually grow to enjoy playing music more. What I want for Becky is for her to have a way to utilize her left hand , and arm so that she will not get bored.

Becky becomes bored very easily. She always wants interesting things to do. A lot of people want the same thing. That's just part of life. People like to do things.

Today I might also open my garage sale table since we can see the yard easily from our porch. Why not put out some stuff. Somebody might buy something while were sitting around relaxing, or playing music.

Maybe I will make a large pitcher of ice tea. Becky loves ice tea, and I have some lemon juice in the refrigerator to add more flavor to it. I have already refilled ice trays with water last night. Come to think of it, from now on I am going to make some ice for the cats as well. On warm days they love ice in their bowls of water. The ice will not last long, but the cats enjoy it while it lasts. I suppose dogs might like ice in their water too.

When Joann comes on the porch, I will get too trim some grass around our house. My weed eater will be put into use. I reckon I will have to bring a folding chair to sit on while I use my weed eater. I can not stand up for long periods of time.

I know I will get hot today outside. Yesterday all I did was work work work picking up junk. My riding lawnmower even got stuck in the mud. I needed a bulldozer to pull it out of the mud. Unfortunately all I had was my arms , for which I almost pulled out of their sockets at my shoulder bones. I came to realize what the early century rack probably felt like. The stuck lawnmower would not budge until I pulled the machine toward me with all of my might. I thanked God that I didn't have to search for help.

I told Joann what happened to me. I tell Joann everything . I think I will probably suffer like a dog in a few days. That's the way pain works. I want feel the pain until a few days later. Last night I took pain medication because I knew I would be suffering soon. Anyway I am fine right now. Today we will have music, and some outdoor fun.

This morning I am going to make some coffee. Soon Becky will be coming in the kitchen. I have to make some French fries for Becky. Joann likes toast with margerine, grits, and turkey baloney. Maybe I will fry some eggs with some smoke sausage.

God Bless.

I am glad you are finally warming up but sorry for the trouble.

Sounds like Becky does like music, you never know how she may take off on the music. The strangest thing is my brother-in-law who is mentally handicapped. He is only a couple years younger than me and I am no spring chicken. lol Well I knew he played something like you are talking about because for many years when we went to visit my in-laws we would hear him upstairs playing, but it wasn't until those in-laws died that I heard this man who cannot talk without stuttering sing in the voice of a beautiful singer. It does not even sound like his voice...so anything is possible.

Stars, Great! How wonderful! Music can calm the agitations of the mind it is good for the soul! So glad to hear that Becky has "come around" as you say and taken an interest in playing.

Since the weather is so nice maybe she will enjoy doing this more often. Since she enjoys a wide variety of music I imagine that she will get bored a lot less... So ENJOY!!!

Have a Marvelously BLESSESD Day! In HIS Love, Grace, Joy, Peace & Blessings!

Dear Mr.s DeBorrah : Thank you very much for writing cherished heart. You're optomism has always been a great source of strength , for many souls here , myself included.

I believe spring brings , and endearing promise every day of wonderful delights. As we sat on our porch yesterday we watched a beautiful pelican like bird as it stood on our fresh cut lawn after a rain shower. So lovely it was, and a nice gift , for our eyes from our lord. God Bless You precious heart, and you're precious family.
