Top 3 Smoothie Makers and Blenders for Students
Best Blender for Students
Students are always looking for ways to save money, but unfortunately eating healthy food isn't cheap, and prepping healthy meals isn't always that quick or easy. If you're a student whose new year's resolution is to become more healthy, then consider buying yourself a smoothie maker or blender. One of these handy machines will help save you so much time - essential for us busy students. Plus, they're not too expensive, and you can make some absolutely delicious drinks and smoothies, whether for breakfast, lunch or a snack in-between lectures.
We've cut through the cheaply made, temperamental, and far too expensive blenders and created you a very helpful summary of our Top 3 Student Fruit Blenders right here on this page. We've also rated each of the 3 blenders on price, size (the smaller the better!), ease of use, and clean-up time. There are always a few students who don't like washing up (myself included), so we figured we should let you know which take longer than others to clean out. Although initially a joke metric, this could actually be a deciding factor for many people reading this, looking to buy their first blender.
What's most important for you in terms of choosing which blender to buy?
3. Argos Value Blender
If you're really looking to spend as little as possible on your new blender, then stop right here. Of all the three blenders in this list, the Argos value blender is the cheapest, by far. It isn't as aesthetically pleasing as our superior two blenders, but it certainly does the job.
If all you want out of your blender is the function to blend, then this would be a great choice. But many people now seek simpler, even quicker ways to make smoothies, ones that don't require as much cleaning up. The reason I can't place this blender any higher than number 3, is because it simple is just a blender.
From my own experience of using this blender, it's a very strong and leak-proof machine. There was one incident when I forgot to fix the lid on correctly, but other than that, spot on. Perfect for blending all sorts of foods. I've successfully blended full almonds and ice cubes with this, without any problems at all. It does require a significantly longer clean up time compared to our other two blenders though!

2. NutriBullet
The NutriBullet has become one of the biggest names in the world of blenders, but I must admit, I have never owned one of these. I have used a NutriBullet a few times and I've found that it's probably one of the best blenders in terms of turning solid to liquid. When blending almonds, for example, there were no small chunks leftover - something I found with the Argos value blender.
In addition to being an amazingly efficient blender, I do love the bottles / containers it comes with. I know this isn't something to really judge the blender by, but it is a nice little extra. Though considering how much you're likely to pay for a NutriBullet, you would hope for a little extra...
I can't put this at number 1 on this list simply because I haven't used a NutriBullet enough to really test its metal. I would advise against buying the NutriBullet under the illusion that the most expensive must be the best, as this is never the case.

1. Breville Blend Active
The Blend Active is one of the most compact, easy to use blenders I have ever seen and used. It's clear that this blender was made with busy people in mind. It comprises a very simple set-up and requires very little cleaning up after each use. The ingenuity behind the bottle-come-blender is second to none, and is completely unique.
The concept of unscrewing your blender, popping a lid on it and then using it as a bottle is simple but extremely effective. It's one of those things where you simply say to yourself 'Wow, why didn't I think of that?'. The BlendActive is, quite simply, the best blender for students. It's relatively cheap for a branded blender, and the following it has received on Instagram is hugely impressive. Search #BlendActive when you have a few minutes spare and check out how many people use this blender. It's clearly reputable and very popular, and you can even find and share recipes on Instagram using the previously mentioned hashtag.
