Tropical Flowers - Exotic and Interesting
Beautiful and unique tropical flowers
I love all kinds of flowers, but tropical flowers are especially enjoyable to see. Perhaps I think this is so, because I have not lived in places where tropical flowers grow naturally. I think they are amazing and very unique.
Tropical flowers are sometimes also called exotic flowers, because they tend to be associated and found in very lush and alluring locations in the world. The locations tend to be warm year round. Some of the tropical locations where these flowers grow best are Indonesia, Amazon Basin in Brazil, the Congo Basin in West Africa and Hawaii. Some have said that the tropical flowers we find in Hawaii, may have originally come from the other places just listed. Regardless, their beauty stands alone, and many have a remarkable fragrance as well.
Some tropical flowers have meanings associated with them. For instance, Birds of Paradise flowers convey joyfulness while Orchids represent Luxury and rare beauty. I distinctly recall enjoying the birds of paradise plants my grandparents had growing up, in Southern California. I loved the bright and cheery colors and designs. They were remarkable. Proteas symbolize courage and diversity.
No matter what particular tropical flower we are talking about, they do have some things in common. They are often striking in nature and reflect a sense of adventure and excitement. Small masterpieces of art, and all from mother nature herself.
Some of the pictures I have taken here, are of flowers in a Butterfly house, where the "climate" is more like a rain forest, so the tropical plants really thrive here. The other location was in a climatron, at our local Botanical Garden which has a similar very particular "climate" inside.
Here is a sampling of some of the tropical plants and flowers I was able to enjoy.
