I hope you plan on planting away, away, away from the water. I had a friend invest 5 grand on landscaping near the pool, only to tear the plants, rocks and bark out. She paid extra to cement over the whole thing and pay for the materials and labor. The problem: it didn't matter what she planted because the rocks, bark and leaves were always falling into the pool. If guests and swimmers weren't knocking her landscaping into the pool, the wind and rain did a good job. She got tired of fishing her landscaping out of the water or paying the pool man to do it.
