I did. I was living with my parents and older sister. I was doing pretty much all the house work and they just kept gloating about my sister like she was the best thing to exist. They were always so proud of even the normal everyday stuff. My relationship with my family got bad enough to where my mom literally said that I was incapable of love and threatened to kick me out. I left on my own terms and haven't been ready to try communicating with them since. I moved out almost three months ago and I almost have my first book published. Everything is great now.

I feel more appreciated at home, at work it is different and not appreciated whatever and no matter how much I tried my best work is not appreciated in the workplace, speaking from my experiences.

Definitely, my car broke down unexpectedly whilst carrying out my job two days ago.   I  make it possible for a disabled person to live a normal life and occasionally act as her driver/pa because she cannot drive.   We took her disabled father along for a treat so he could enjoy a picnic lunch with us and also visit some gorgeous gardens.  Undeterred, they called a cab to get themselves home and left me standing in total shock by the car in a very awkward traffic situation.  I am still recovering from the shock of being treated as if my safety was of no consequence to my employer.  To be fair the father called twice before I arrived home two hours later but not a word from my employer until I e-mailed her the following day.

A friend summed it up very succinctly for me - if I may quote, "I feel like the ladle in the punch bowl, I am doing all the heavy lifting and getting none of the punch!"

Sometimes...when you complete an assignment and your boss takes are the credit for it. That is really an annoying situation.

yes, all the time. I feel my work at home are not appreciated at all. I cook, do household chore, feed the cat, make sure my kids homework are done. All I get is scolding and nagging from hubby. Not a word of appreciation and he never lift a finger to help. I feel like i am a maid or slave from the 60's
