What kind of vegetables do you grow in your garden?

We are going to grow tomatoes, cucmbers, some spices especially rosemary, varieties of squash, hot and regular peppers, dill and some garlic. I cannot wait to pick my own home grown tomato. There is no better tasting tomato than one you pick and eat from your garden

I have lots of broccoli and several types of beans. I also have tomatoes and I agree that nothing can beat homegrown vegetables in terms of freshness and taste.

Hi! suzzycue, I like growing Pak Choi(Chinese greens), peas, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, squash, aubergine, onions, strawberries, broad beans, and many more but it depends on the space as well. You are right, nothing beats home grown vegetables. I enjoy picking them to cook. Apart from vegetables, I also grow my favourite flowers like cyclamen, tulips, daffodils, Vietnam rose, and some indoor plants too.

Wow liesl5858. You are a busy gardener. You have a huge variety of vegetable goodies. I don't have that much space but the more you grow the better flavor and the better it is for you. Cooking them yourself lets you put in your body what you want. smile

    HI Suzycue,

What a fun dialogue to start. I have a backyard garden (actually, several beds strewn across my backyard), as well as a community garden I help tend at my co-housing village. Here are some of my own favorites ~

snap peas (I usually go for 2 rounds)
    lettuce
    beets
    carrots
    cucumbers
    watermelon
    kale
    zucchini
    butternut squash
    eggplant
    pole beans

and I agree with you about the tomatoes!  My goal this year is to squirrel away more of my home-grown food for the winter than I have done in past years.

Wow thank you for your input Seafarer Mama. What a vegetable feast you grow every year. I also go to a community garden and this year I will donate plants I have started from seeds. I freeze kale fresh from the garden and eat it all winter in soups.
