Breakfast Bar Table - Nice Sets To Have

Updated on August 1, 2015

Breakfast Bar Table For The Kitchen

I have been looking at these breakfast bar tables and find them to be quite practical, and affordable too. I have been thinking of putting one in my home but because of a lack of space, I really need one that is compact and space-saving. While shopping around, below are a few models that caught my eye and I think are worth a serious look if you are also planning on getting the same for your kitchen like me.

Now, why would you want a breakfast bar table? For me, I'm thinking of getting rid of my dining table. As I have mentioned, space is a constraint in my home and the dining table that we have is just a little too big for my taste. A smaller unit is sufficient for our needs and a breakfast bar table fits the bill. The stools can be put underneath when not in use which frees up even more space!

I have also seen how others have used such a table to divide up the kitchen and living room. If you have an open space concept for your home, this type of furniture will help to create that barrier.

As mentioned, below are a few selected sets that I have come across that made me sit up and take a close look. Hopefully, you will find them of interest too.

Cheap And Compact Set

Winsome Wood Suzanne Kitchen, Square, Natural, Beech

When drop leaf side is folded up, you get a compact unit (shown below) that would be a perfect fit for small spaces. It is also cheap, which makes it a great buy for those who just want a simple and small breakfast bar table.

More On The Winsome Space Saver Table

This breakfast bar table is also a space-saver unit with its compact design. The two stools fit nicely underneath so that they don't get in the way when not in use. It has a drop leaf design, so when it is folded up, it is really small which would be perfect for apartments and those with a tiny kitchen.

Made of beechwood, it is also available in semi-circle shape apart from the square shown above. You can also get it both in natural and teak colors.

The good thing about this? I saw that it comes with wheels so I can actually push it around easily if I want to eat in another room. I do eat in front of the TV or elsewhere around the home now and then, so, having wheels is a big plus for me.

The price is also pretty cheap for a furniture piece and the last time I checked it out, it is retailing for less than $130 on Amazon with free shipping thrown in.

Black Top Table Set

Go for a modern breakfast bar table if you have a contemporary kitchen. This set with its black top and metal legs make it an attractive and eye-catching furniture piece.

This set looks appealing to me because of its contemporary design. A lot of tables that I have seen have a traditional wooden look but not this one. The black top and metal legs make the difference here.

I think if you have a white counter top like I do, then this would be an ideal match. It kinds of give the kitchen a contrast rather than having everything in plain white.

The stools have a curved seat which give them a nice touch. It is bigger than the space saver table above but overall, it is not too large either that it takes up a lot of room, measuring just 4 by 2 by 3 feet in terms of size.

The only thing I wish they could have added would be cushioned seats for the stools for more comfortable seating.

Faux Stone 3-Piece Table Set

The faux stone top gives this an elegant appearance. It is a classy breakfast table but without a hefty price tag. It is surprisingly cheap!

Why I Like This Linon Tavern Collection 3-Piece Set

The faux marble top gives this breakfast bar table a classy appearance. That is what makes me take a second look at this set while I was searching for something for my kitchen. Surprisingly, it is also rather inexpensive which is an added bonus.

It has a dark espresso finish and padded stools, which is great for more comfort. Made of solid wood, the stools also tuck neatly underneath as a space saving design.

Perhaps if you have a marble counter top for your kitchen, this would be a good complement. It is an elegant piece which would fit well in other rooms too, if you are not using it in your kitchen.

This set is also relatively cheap which is what makes it a popular buy. It may not be the best of quality but it works for a small kitchen.

This set is made in the USA, so it is more expensive but you will get better quality for a table. Also, the bench is a nice touch rather than having 4 stools all around.

I like this because you can extend it on both ends, which is practical for those times when you need a bigger surface.

This is a change from the stools that you normally get with a breakfast bar table. This set comes with chairs with back support which would definitely be more comfortable.

Chairs Or Stools?

These breakfast bar tables usually come with stools for your seating. But you can also find some that come with chairs instead. I feel that chairs are certainly more comfortable but being a breakfast table set, it is probably not designed for long sitting hours. Moreover, stools save space as they can be tucked under the table.

So, which would you choose to go with your breakfast bar table?
