Dynamite Plant and Tomato Food

Updated on January 7, 2016

I Love the Dynamite Brand of environmentally friendly fertilizer!

I have been gardening for many years and I use the Dynamite brand of plant food on my container grown vegetables and plants. I also use Dynamite on my flower beds. (So glad it comes in a 2 pound size!)

The reasons I consistently purchase and recommend the Dynamite Brand:

First of all, the company that manufactures this plant food has been "green' for a long time! Since 1981, to be exact.

Secondly, this plant food is recommended by professional gardeners I trust.

Next, this fertilizer is time released. Apply and forget about feeding your plants for the growing season. (It says so right on the label!) The yellow cap on the container shown in the photo is used to measure the amount of nourishment you apply. I am all for ease and convenience of use without having to keep up with a special spoon or cup.

Lastly, Dynamite Plant Food is safe for my plants. Even if I accidentally put too much on them, the fertilizer will not "burn" my precious baby plants.

Mickie_G's Gardening History

growing tomatoes in containers and a raised bed garden.

I have always loved growing my own vegetables and have tried many, many products over the last few years.

I have several articles here on Squidoo where I share my experiences and tips. If you visit them you will see several other products that I used and had success with at that time. Most of those pages were written before I found the Dynamite Brand. In fact, until 2011, it was difficult to find the Dynamite brand on the shelf in my local gardening shop. If you cannot find Dynamite Mater Magic or Dynamite Plant Food in your area, I highly suggest that you order it from Amazon.

One other brand that I find excellent, though it is not officially a "green" one, is Fertilome. The Start-n-Grow is one of my favorites.

As the years have passed, the trees in my yard have grown and I get less sun on my original raised bed (see the photo to the right). Because of this fact, I now grow most of my veggies in containers that I can place in the sunniest parts of my yard. Every year I move those big pots to new sunny places.

Environmentally Friendly Plant Food - Dynamite is my personal choice

I keep this plant food on my gardening shelf constantly. Quite literally I fertilize my vegetables the day I plant them in the dirt and they grow the whole summer. One gardener suggests that if the leaves of a vegetable plant begins to turn a little yellow because it used up the nutrients , then put on some more Dynamite. The beauty of this product is that it will not chemically "burn" your plants. I never felt like I used too much of this dynamite fertilizer.

A local gardening expert also uses this plant food and recommends it to customers who visit his shop.

The Dynamite website (http://www.dynamiteplantfood.com/the-products-rev/) proudly states that their products help plants grow while saving the environment!

How do you feel about fertilizers? - Organic or Not?

I try to use products that are earth friendly because I want to save this green planet for my grandchildren to enjoy. Sometimes it is not always easy to find eco-friendly products that work. I have used Dynamite environmentally friendly fertilizers and plant food for the last several years with positive results.

Not everyone is in to organic gardening and I would like you to participate in the poll below. Opinions are welcome.

Dynamite Brand Mater Magic - Natural and Organic!

A kindly old gentleman first pointed out "Dynamite Brand Mater Magic" to me at my local garden shop. I purchased it and loved the ease of using this tomato fertilizer.

The Dynamite website proudly states that they have been green since 1981.

I have had wonderful luck using Mater Magic. The only addition I make to my containers is any product that will prevent blossom end rot .
