I severed my time as a decorator and I'm putting up a group of hubs from start to finish decorating a living room.
    Think it might help.

Happy to answer your decoration questions.

That's a Great Idea, often thought about that myself. Most people THINK they know what to do, but there's so much more to decorating than a lot of folks think.
I know it will be an invaluable thing o do. Well done.

Well at least it shows you have good taste in paint to the point that someone else wanted it.

I am starting to redcorate my home.  Just got new carpet in the upstairs. The carpet the took out was so old that it had "horsehair" padding underneath. eewwwww.. I will be doing some painting and refinishing cabinets later this summer...

How do you feel about the "distressed" style of decoration?  Is it a trend that has passed?

Oh I don't think so.  I think furnishings and decor that are bright, shiny and new don't lend as much character to a room than something that has a story behind it.

Bless you for removing border paper.  Aside from being nearly impossible, the tedium of this labor produces a beautiful thing... a room without chintzy wall paper border.  Mazel tov!

I love redocorating!.. The latest I have heard is swaping furniture with friends or family to get that new fresh look. I'm currently looking for someone in the area to trade outdoor patio furniture with because it is just as expensive as indoor furniture these days.

WOW! I have never heard of that. What a fantastic idea! I will have to look into that...thanks for the great idea! I also hate removing wallpaper/borders and truly love the look and feel of a newly painted room. It's definintely an expensive way to liven up a room.

I don't like doing convential painting, but I love painting murals all over my walls.  I like the work of Sian Kelly Cecilio and I have enlarged her pictures to take up complete walls.  People are always startled when they walk into our hallway which has eight dancing black women.  They look fabuolous.  I have paintings in nearly every room and in the hallway.  Because they are done with emulsion, when I get bored I photograph them and just pain over them with something different.  I have a half done Beryl Cook painting in my downstairs toilet and am starting an LS Lowry in one of the upstairs bathroom. I love it.
