Furniture Design Tips

There are many approaches to designing your furniture, hence for your sake I've got listed some tips below to help you find that perfect spot for each and everyone of 'em.

  • Go for a theme. Contemporary, moderne, traditional, or just about anything that goes to your liking. You can even mix and match furniture from different theme sets with each other, to form your very own unique theme. No one sets the rule here, it's just the matter of showing your imagination and creativity. Of course, it would be better if you'll stick to one theme though.
  • Use the lighting to your advantage. Usually, different lighting styles would enhance a theme. Like for example, a traditional all wood furniture set would look better in dim light, in comparison with a moderne interior style best complemented by bright lights.
  • Place appliances as well as windows right. As much as possible, it would be best to have an arrangement which maximizes natural light, as this would give a better feel to the room as well as save energy costs. You can incorporate TVs in walls if you want.
  • Add complements. This would include stone elements, or even a small pond or fountain. Just like with the theme selection, it all depends on your creativity. Just be sure to stick to your theme though, or it'll just look awkward all the same. Examples of these are beautiful stones for a traditional style, while using metals for the modern one.
  • Maximize space. You should have enough space for a wide variety of movements. To try if there's enough space, you can try performing jumping jacks. If you don't hit anything, it's good. For this, you can try to buy furniture with double functions, like bookshelf cabinets, or things of that sort.
  • Easy on the upholstery. Nowadays, not all furniture would need upholstery. Of course, this would also be dependent in your selected theme, or not.

There are a lot of themes and ideas available, just be creative and enjoy!
